It is located in the central part of the region 6 km east of Dorogobuzh , 3 km south of the P134 Staraya Smolenskaya road , on the banks of the Olkhovka River. 22 km north of the village is the Maksimovo railway station on the Moscow - Minsk line .

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in October 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
