It is part of the Sloykovsky rural settlement .
Population - 4 inhabitants ( 2011 ).
It is located in the central part of the region 9 km south-west of Dorogobuzh , 7 km south of the P134 Staraya Smolenskaya road highway . 25 km north of the village is the Maksimovo railway station on the Moscow - Minsk line .
Near the village is the highest point of the Elninskaya Upland - a hill 274.4 meters high.
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in October 1941 , liberated in September 1943 [1] .
It is known that in Bolotovo from 1790s to 1920s an Orthodox church operated.
In Soviet times, an elementary school worked.
