It is located in the central part of the region 6 km northeast of Dorogobuzh , 4 km north of the P134 Staraya Smolenskaya road , on the banks of the Dnieper River. 18 km north of the village is the Durovo railway station on the Moscow - Minsk line .

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in October 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
