It is located in the central part of the region 0.5 km east of Dorogobuzh , 2 km east of the P137 Safonovo - Roslavl highway, on the banks of the Dnieper River. 22 km north of the village is the Durovo railway station on the Moscow - Minsk line .

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in October 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
