It is located in the central part of the region 14 km south of Dorogobuzh , 9 km east of the P137 Safonovo - Roslavl highway, on the banks of the Selnya River. 25 km south of the village is the Kaloshino railway station on the Smolensk - Sukhinichi line .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in October 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
