The population is 11 256 [2] people. (2017).

History

The working village leads its history from the Khresttsy farm (aka Christ, Krestovsky) of the Kochetovsky village at the Sukhoi Donets, which already existed in 1837 .

In 1958, the settlement on the territory of the construction of the Ust-Donetsk river port was given the name Ust-Donetsky settlement [4] . By the decision of the Rostov Regional Executive Committee of January 13, 1961, the village of Ust-Donetsk was classified as a working village [5] .

In the period from February 1963 to November 1965, the working village of Ust-Donetsk was administratively subordinate to the city of Volgodonsk, Rostov Region [6] .

Since November 1965, the working village of Ust-Donetsk becomes the center of the newly formed Ust-Donetsk region of the Rostov Region [7] .

Geography and climate

The village of Ust-Donetsk is located on the right bank of the Seversky Donets River , 4 km from the place where it flows into the Don River .

Climate

The climate type is humid continental with hot summers (Dfa - according to the Köppen climate classification ). The average annual air temperature is 9.3 ° C, and the rainfall is 493 mm [1] .

Attractions

  • Monument to V.I. Lenin in the village square of the same name.
  • Monument "The Grieving Warrior". It was established on May 9, 1975 in memory of those killed in 1943 , freeing the Crosses farm. The monument is a warrior standing on a pedestal with machine guns in his left hand and a helmet in his right. Authors of the monument: architect Vitaly Ivanovich Boldyrev and sculptor of the Rostov Art Fund Evdokia Alexandrovna Brazhnikova. The sculpture was cast at the Ust-Donetsk concrete plant. A brick wall is installed near the monument, on which are written the names of fellow countrymen who died during the Great Patriotic War , and eternal flame.
