She won gold at the individual distance at the 1978 home world championship, [2] ahead of the current world champion Finnish Liisu Vejalainen by only 2 seconds.
A year later, in 1979, at the World Championships in Finnish Tampere , she won silver in the relay. [3] In the individual race was only sixth. [four]
