He taught in Turin , then at the Pesaro Musical Lyceum . Known primarily for his “Twenty Concert Etudes” ( Italian: Venti studi da concerto ) for double bass, which caused Giovanni Bottezini (the internationally recognized “Paganini Double Bass”) to recognize Mengoli as the best of the double bass players. The student of Mengoli was, in particular, Isaiah Bill .
The street in Pesaro is named after Mengoli.
