Story

Maria comes to Moscow to enter VGIK , but it ends in failure. She is ashamed to return home, she decides to stay. She bears the fate of all such provincial losers - everyone who comes across her tries to use her - at first the Caucasian tries to rape her, then - all other acquaintances. But then she meets Vadim. Vadim worked in Vneshtorg , but during Perestroika he remained in the West and organized his enterprise there. Maria becomes his mistress , lives in Russia and is his business partner. Maria is in love with Vadim, although he is considered his " kept woman ."

Soon Vadim is taken hostage by bandits who demand a substantial ransom for him, 100 thousand dollars . He instructs Mary to raise money and she proceeds to the search. First, she turns to his acquaintances, businessmen, but they give only 10 thousand, then Maria contacts the police, who offers to enter into negotiations with the bandits, offering them different conditions. As a result, an agreement was reached that she would give back the collected 96 thousand, pushing a bag from the balcony, while an ambush was set up in her apartment, but the operation due to chance (the appearance of a patrol car) was disrupted.
