NOTAM notices may include information:

• about events and phenomena that may be dangerous for flights, such as air shows, missile launches, etc.
• idle taxiways and runways ;
• idle radio navigation equipment or lighting equipment;
• restriction of flights in a certain airspace in connection with flights of military aviation , experimental aircraft or the performance of letter-controlled flights (carrying the heads of state or government, foreign delegations);
• work carried out near aerodromes, which may, for example, require the installation of a crane;
• flocks of flocks of birds;
• notifications of flooding / icing or volcanic ash covering of a runway , taxiway or apron.

NOTAM to consumers is provided on the basis of concluded agreements in real time via the AFTN network , or in the form of a weekly summary of current notices sent by e-mail. Notices are also published in the public domain on the website of the Center for Aeronautical Information .

At aerodromes, the collection, generalization of NOTAM notifications received and their communication to the flight personnel , as well as the development, production and dispatch of NOTAMs at their aerodrome, are carried out by the navigator .

The first line contains the NOTAM identifier:

• series, number, year
• type of notice: N (N) - introduction of a new one, P (R) - replacement, C (C) - cancellation
• Additionally, the identifier of another NOTAM, if it is replaced or canceled by the current.

The following lines are opened with a letter followed by a closing bracket:

• Q (Щ) - “ determinants” - contains information about those to whom NOTAM is intended and its brief description. It is mainly used for automated processing (allows grouping and selection).
• A (A) - contains a four-letter pointer (index) of the location to which NOTAM refers.
• B (B) - date and time of commencement of NOTAM action in UTC .
• C (C) - date and time of expiration of NOTAM by UTC .
• D (D) - specifies the validity period of NOTAM within the period specified above, for example, several hours a day.
• E (E) - contains a complete description of NOTAM.
• F (Ф) - an optional item containing information about the lower boundary of the height interval to which the notice relates.
• G (G) - an optional item containing information about the upper boundary.

NOTAM notices for the Russian Federation and CIS countries are issued in the series:

• with information on the general rules of navigation on the route and means of communication, restrictions of a permanent nature:
  • Series A (A) - in the airspace of the Russian Federation and in relation to international airports on the territory of the Russian Federation (to the AIP of the Russian Federation Book 1 ).
  • Series C (C) - in the airspace of the Russian Federation and in relation to Class A, B, C aerodromes (with the exception of international ones), and also contains information related to the performance of domestic flights in the Russian Federation (to the AIP of the Russian Federation Book 2 ).
  • Series D (D) - in the airspace of the Russian Federation on the MVL and in relation to class G, D, E aerodromes (with the exception of international ones), heliports , landing sites, as well as time restrictions on the MVL that are not open for international flights. (to AIP RF Book 4 ).

• Series C (S) (SNOWTAM, Snowy NOTAM) - NOTAM of a special series containing information about snow , slush, ice or still water on the runway of aerodromes. The format of this series has a structure different from the rest. Published seasonally from October 15 to April 15 in accordance with the Snow Plan (snow plan information is included in AIC aeronautical information circulars).
