Eyedrive is a small-sized remote-controlled robot [1] .

Content

History

Designed by the Israeli defense company ODF Optronics .

Purpose

Designed for search work and inspection of premises. Eyedrive can climb stairs and overcome obstacles on its own. Available in two crawler and wheeled upgrades. Given its small size and weight, it can easily be thrown by hand into a suspicious building, while people are not at risk. It has a remote control. The video surveillance system consists of 4 stationary cameras and one rotary. Video and audio information received by the robot’s sensors is transmitted to the operator’s computer via Wi-Fi. The video surveillance system provides the ability to continuously monitor the reconnaissance site within a radius of 360 ° without “blind spots”.

It is in service with the power structures of the Russian Federation and many other countries. Used in Operation Cast Lead ( Gaza Strip, January 2009).
