Steinberg, Mark

Mark Steinberg ( born Mark Steinberg ; born 1967 ) is an American violinist .

He studied at Indiana University and the Juilliard School , among his teachers were Joseph Gingold and Robert Mann from the Juilliard Quartet .

The first violin of the Brentano Quartet since its founding in 1992. As part of this ensemble, it has been awarded a number of prizes - including the first awarded the Cleveland Quartet Prize ( 1995 ) and the London Royal Philharmonic Society ( 1997 ) for the best debut on the British stage.

As the soloist constantly performs with the pianist Mitsuko Utida - so, during the London tour in 2001 , they performed a cycle of all sonatas for violin and clavier Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

He teaches at Mannes College .
