Lushutsid , Lushootseed (options: xʷəlšucid , dxʷləšúcid ), also - Pugetic Salish, Salishi Puget Sound , Skagit-Nisqually , Skagit-Nisqually - a language or dialectic continuum spoken by several tribal in the state of modern Washington , including duvomisha , steilakumi , sukvomishi , squoxin island , makshut , niskvolli and puyallup in the south, as well as daughter-in- law , stilagwamishi, skagit and pigs in the north.

Lushutsid, as well as the neighboring language of the Twan of the Skokomish family, belongs to the southern coastal group of the Salish language family.
An interesting feature of the language is the absence of nasal consonants , despite the fact that the language contains a large number of consonants, like other languages of the northwestern coast of the United States.
According to the report of Ethnologue , by the beginning of the XXI century. no more than 60 people were fluent in Lushucid, with about half speaking the northern dialect, the rest speaking the south. [2]

Dialects
Lushutsid has several dialects:
- Lushootseed is spoken in Washington State's Puget Sound probe. Almost disappeared.
- Skagit (Swagom, Swinomish ) is spoken on the eastern end of the Puget Sound probe of Washington State . Almost disappeared. It has a northern dialect. We switched to English.
- The Snohomish is spoken on the Tulalip Reservation in northwestern Washington . Almost disappeared. We switched to English.
- The Southern Puget Sound Salish is spoken at the southern end of the Washington State Puget Sound probe. It has dialects of duvamish, maklshut, niskvalli, puyallup, snokvalmi, sukukh, southern. We switched to English.
