The administrative center of the settlement is the village of Zhukovskaya .
Content
History
The first mention of the village of Zhukovskoy dates back to 1859. It is known that before this village had the status of a farm, which had the name Zhukov.
In 1932, a machine and tractor station (abbreviated as MTS) was created on the territory of the village of Zhukovskaya, at about the same time the first batch of tractors was put at its disposal, which greatly simplified farming. Then the first workshops were built in the village. In 1940, MTS became known as Novo-Zhukovsky.
The village itself also developed. A club, shop, and elementary school were built here.
The Great Patriotic War caused the ruin of the economy, which then local residents were forced to rebuild with difficulty. Gradually, stable crops began to grow again in the fields.
In 1950, due to the construction of the Tsimlyansk reservoir , the village was relocated to an elevated place. Wooden houses were pulled over on a sleigh, and all the rest were dismantled and reassembled at another place. Public buildings were also built: a comprehensive school, machine-tractor workshops, etc.
Currently, the village of Zhukovskaya is a well-maintained settlement. There is a two-story school, a boarding house, a kindergarten, a medical dispensary, a village club, and shops. There are more than 450 yards in the village.
The total population of the Zhukovsky rural settlement, according to data from 05/01/2014, is 1998 people. People of different nationalities live here: Russians , Ukrainians , Belarusians , Dargins , Chechens , Avars , Armenians , Moldovans [2] .
