Biography
Stanislav Sorokin started boxing in Noginsk in the section of the Spartak stadium with coach Vladimir Gorbunov. Later he visited the specialized section at the Stroitel recreation center in the city of Elektrostal .
In 1961 and 1962, speaking in the USSR Championship, Sorokin became the bronze medalist. In 1963, he became the champion of the country and repeats his success twice more: in 1964 and 1965.
Speaking for the USSR national team at the 1964 Olympics, Stanislav Sorokin won bronze.
In 1969, after graduating from a sports career, Sorokin opened the first specialized boxing hall in Noginsk, which was considered a branch of the Elektrostalskoye Sports School of the Olympic Reserve.
After a long illness, he died in 1991.
In 1994, the first boxing tournament in memory of Stanislav Sorokin, which became annual.
