GameTrailers (abbreviated as GT ; Russian. Game trailers ) is a website specializing in game video content. GameTrailers host videos and trailers of computer games (PC games, console and mobile games): cinematic videos, previews, reviews, interviews with developers, gameplay videos. The site users are provided with full free registration-free access to all video content. At the same time, in most cases, video materials can be watched both online (via an Internet browser) and saved to a user's local computer. Many videos are offered for download in two standards: high quality (950 * 540 pixels) and medium quality (480 * 360 pixels). As codecs, WMV and QuickTime are usually used.

Users can upload videos to GameTrailers, create blogs, and participate in forums. They can also create factions (communities) for games or other interests. Factions have access to private, private forums. The GameTrailers website has its own currency, which can be earned through various interactions with the website and can be used to purchase both virtual and real goods. Previously, this currency was called GTD ( GameTrailers Dollars - Russian dollars for GameTrailers ), but now it is renamed to GTP ( GameTrailers Points - English points for GameTrailers ).
Site History
GameTrailers.com was founded by Geoff Grotz and Brandon Jones in 2003. Jon Slusser and his Hornet Animation company invested in the launch of the site, and so Slasher became the CEO of GameTrailers. In November 2005, GameTrailers was acquired by MTV Networks for an undisclosed amount. [2]
The first version of GameTrailers magazine was featured on GT Weekly and awarded in August 2005 by Amanda MacKay ) and Daniel Kayser ). After 44 episodes, in March 2007, the show was renamed “GameOne”, and live chat was also highlighted where viewers could discuss the show.
In February 2007, the ScrewAttack gaming website began providing content for GameTrailers, including Top Tens, Video Game Vault, and The Angry Video Game Nerd . Shortly thereafter, the Spike TV Channel Game Game show also began collaborating with GameTrailers.
On August 21, 2007, MTV Networks restructured its entertainment department and merged Ifilm.com and SpikeTV.com into Spike.com, and also grouped this new entity with GameTrailers and Xfire at Spike Digital Entertainment and appointed John Slasher as junior vice. President, Jeff Grots, Vice President of Product Development and Brad Winters, General Manager of GameTrailers.com. [3]
On January 25, 2008, GameOne was replaced by Gametrailers TV, a renamed version of the Game Head television show Spike TV, which was still hosted by Canadian game journalist Geoff Keighley . However, the show was now produced by GameTrailers in collaboration with Amanda Mackay and Daniel Kaiser. The show is shown on Spike TV every Friday at 1.00 a.m. [four]
February 9, 2016 on Twitter GameTrailers there was a record of the closure of the site [5] .
