Bouquet Composition

Artistic decorative composition is made up of parts of plants , as well as, sometimes, decorative elements of plant origin. In most cases, the basis of the bouquet is shoots that carry blooming flowers (colloquially called "flowers"). In the 20th century, bouquets were also made from original products: sweets, fruits, toys; Wedding bouquets are sometimes made of brooches, fabric, feathers and other decorative materials. A composition of dry (dried) plant parts is called a dry, or dry-flowered bouquet .

Bouquets in many cultures are indispensable traditional attributes of many events (weddings, funerals), often used as signs of courtship, appreciation, respect. Another application of the bouquet is decorative decoration of the interior during important events.

In addition to the attractive appearance, the bouquets may have a pleasant aroma depending on the plants from which the flower arrangement is collected.

The number of flowers in a bouquet

In different countries, there are many traditions associated with the number of flowers presented.

In Russia and the CIS countries, it is customary to bring an even number of flowers only to the funeral of the dead.

In the USA , in European countries (except France), in Georgia, and in some eastern countries, it is believed that an even number of gifts of flowers brings happiness [5] [6] .

Floral Design

Floral design, floristry is the art of using plant materials and flowers to create a pleasant and harmonious composition. The principles of floral design: balance, proportions, rhythm, contrast, harmony, unity.

There are many styles of floral design.

Ikebana is a Japanese or oriental style of floral design, based on the principle of exquisite simplicity, achieved by revealing the natural beauty of the material.
The European style emphasizes the color and variety of plant materials, not limited only to blooming flowers. Western design has historically been characterized by symmetrical, asymmetric, horizontal, vertical styles.
