Upper posterior dentate

The upper back dentate muscle (m. Serratus posterior superior) is the muscle of the third layer of the superficial muscles of the back, located under the rhomboid muscle.
It starts from the lower part of the nuchal ligament , two (one) lower cervical and two upper thoracic vertebrae .
It goes down and laterally in bundles, which are attached by 4 teeth to 2–5 ribs , somewhat lateral to the corners on the outer surface.
The number of muscle bundles can vary, from an increase in their number to a complete absence of muscle.
