Biography
- April 16, 1875 - Entered the Marine Corps.
- April 1, 1878 - Midshipman .
- August 30, 1879 - Midshipman .
- January 1, 1884 - Lieutenant .
- September 27, 1891 - Adjutant to the governor of the Ministry of the Sea.
- December 6, 1894 - Captain of the 2nd rank "for distinction in service."
- June 13, 1896 - February 28, 1898 - Senior officer of the 1st rank cruiser Rurik .
- June 1, 1898 - Marine agent in France.
- December 6, 1902 - Captain 1st rank "for distinction in service."
- February 5, 1901 - October 7, 1902 - The commander of the gunboat “ Brave ”.
- April 6, 1903 - Commander of the 1st rank cruiser Svetlana .
He participated in the Tsushima campaign and the battle as the head of the reconnaissance detachment. He died in battle on May 15, 1905. Deleted from lists June 6, 1905.
Sergei Pavlovich was married to maid of honor Princess Ekaterina Alexandrovna Urusova , daughter of chamberlain Alexander Mikhailovich Urusov and Leonilla Lazarevna Lazareva, great-granddaughter of Prince A. M. Urusov and granddaughter of Lieutenant General L. E. Lazarev . After the tragic death of her husband, Ekaterina Alexandrovna did not take mourning, devoting herself to charity. She built a church on her husband’s estate, a hospital on the Lapotkovo family estate ( Krapivensky district, Tula province ), etc. [1] .
