Biography

He spent his childhood and youth in Abkhazia. After leaving school, he left for Novocherkassk, where he entered the institute and successfully completed it.

Pupil of the Novocherkassk club team "Petrel". From an early age he played on the right flank and in the center of defense.

In 1961-1962 (until July) he played for the Torpedo (Taganrog) . The footballer was noticed by SKA coach (Rostov-on-Don) Viktor Maslov and took him to the team. Since August 1962 - as part of SKA, was the captain of the team in 1968.

In July 1969 he left the team, but from the beginning of 1970 to August 1972 he again played in SKA. He played 231 matches in the major league and did not score goals.

Player of the USSR national team (1965-1966). Spent 1 match of the 1966 World Cup - against the national team of Chile .

As a player Getmanov emphasized the ability to be tenacious in martial arts, competently acted positionally. He skillfully connected to attacks, was the author of many assists from the flank to the main scorer of the 1960s team - Oleg Kopaev [1] .

Having finished football, he worked as a technologist in the gas industry.

Since 2002, in the Rostov Region, the region’s winter championship has been held annually, bearing the name of a football player - Getmanov’s Cup.
