File information

In 1993 in the British city of Warrington (England), two explosions sounded from the bombs . The attacks were organized by the militants of the IRA ( Irish Republican Army ). As a result of the action, two boys were killed, Jonathan Ball and Tim Perry, and other people were injured. The song was written in response to the death of these two boys.

According to Dolores O'Riordan , zombies are the members of the IRA, as a result of whose actions innocent people go to the next world .

  • The line “It's the same old theme since 1916” (“It's the same old story since 1916”) implies the Easter Rising , raised in 1916 with the goal of gaining independence by Ireland.

In 1994, a video was shot for the song, which used footage from the shooting of the British patrol in Northern Ireland . The director of the video is Samuel Beyer .
