History
Human settlements on the territory of modern Kuri appeared in the era of Samkhan . Then this land was part of the Mahan tribal association called Koriguk. Now the territory of Koriguk is divided between several modern South Korean cities. Later, the territory became part of the early Korean state Paekche , and then, in the IV century - into the composition of Goguryeo . In 475 Bukhansan county (Bukhansangun) was formed here. In 898, on the territory of the present Kuri, it became part of the Yanju district. In 983, Yanju received administrative status as a mok . By 1530, the first mention of the town of Kuji, located in the current territory of Kuri, dates back to the year. In 1914, Kouri got its modern name. January 1, 1986 received city status. [one]
