In Novorossiysk, a number of buildings were built according to Kallistratov's designs. The most remarkable of them is considered to be the building of the city government.

In 1911, the architect moved to Saratov. In 1912, it was decided to open a conservatory in Saratov. The building of the music school, which was supposed to house the conservatory, it was decided to rebuild. The building was originally built in 1902 by the architect Alexander Yulievich Yagn . Contemporaries negatively evaluated the architecture of this building. Semyon Akimovich brilliantly coped with the first task set before him. The building has been expanded and its facade completely redesigned. The building is remembered for its towers with spiers and weathercocks, Gothic pointed peaked pinnacles, ridge grids, lancet arches of windows and a large round rose window. The Saratov State Conservatory is rightfully considered one of the architectural symbols of the city.

In 1917, Kallistratov erected another architectural symbol of the city in Saratov - the building of the Astoria Hotel . The construction of the hotel was completed by the fall of 1917 . The hotel had 83 rooms. Distinctive features of the building are massive pylons extended to the entire height of the building, an open gallery of the fourth floor, statues of medieval knights and messengers. The sculptures were made according to the sketches of the sculptor Dunduk Pavel Fedorovich. After the revolution, the building was used to house various government offices. However, already in 1925 the Astoria Hotel again started operating. In 1956, the Astoria Hotel was renamed the Volga. This name has been preserved to this day.

The architect also erected the following buildings in Saratov:

  • Kufeld girls' gymnasium (on the corner of Pervomaiskaya and Radishcheva streets)
  • school number 2 (on the corner of Michurin and Khuslyanov streets)
  • School No. 99 (at the corner of Kutyakov and Universitetskaya Streets )
  • Surgical building of the 1st city hospital

In 1922, Kallistratov moved to Moscow . In Moscow, he was engaged mainly in administrative work.

In 1948, the architect retires, but still continues to work as an architect, now mainly in Novorossiysk . In 1955, the master built his own small house, in which his handwriting is accurately read. Simon Akimovich lived in this house until his death in 1966 .
