Biography

Origin and education

Born on August 20, 1959 in Moscow . Mother - Sazhina Galina Ivanovna - teacher, father - Sazhin Boris Stepanovich - graduate of the Moscow Institute of Chemical Technology named after D. I. Mendeleev , doctor of technical sciences, honored worker of science and technology of the RSFSR , professor, academician. In 1966-1976 he studied at a secondary school with a polytechnic bias No. 61 in Moscow. In parallel, until 1973 he studied music in piano and accordion . In the years 1973-1975. passed practical training at the Moscow Radio Engineering Plant , having received the qualification of “4th category fitter”. In 1975 he received the title of candidate for master of sports in skiing [1] .

In 1976 he entered the Moscow Institute of Chemical Technology. D. I. Mendeleev (now - Russian University of Chemical Technology) at the Faculty of Cybernetics of Chemical Engineering Processes. In 1986 he defended his thesis on the topic “Development and application of a new method for calculating the industrial processes of drying bulk materials in fluidized bed apparatus”. In 2000, he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic "Scientific foundations of the technique of drying dispersed materials under effective hydrodynamic regimes of the suspended layer" in the specialty "Basic processes and apparatuses of chemical technologies" [1] .

Work at the Russian Technical University

In 1982, having graduated from the university with a degree in Basic Chemical Production and Cybernetics of Chemical-Technological Processes, he remained working at the Moscow Art Institute as a senior laboratory assistant at the KHTP department. Since 1987, Viktor Borisovich worked at the Moscow Art Institute at the Department of Artistic Chemistry, until 1993 - as an assistant, from 1993 to 2000 - associate professor , and from 2000 - professor [1] .

Since 1988, it has been a member of the joint council of young scientists, specialists and students of the Moscow Art Technical Institute (RCTU), and since 1991, its chairman. In 1991-1993, without interruption from teaching, he worked in the admissions committee of the Moscow Art Theater, achieved a change in the status of the commission from an interim body to a permanent unit within the university. In 1993 he became the scientific secretary of the section of processes and apparatuses of chemical technology of the Russian Chemical Society Mendeleev [1] .

In 2003, he became deputy pro-rector for scientific work at the Russian Chemical Technical University. Since 2005 - Member of the Dissertation Council of the University [1] .

Administrative and Academic Memberships

In 1993, he became one of the initiators of the creation of the public association “Russian Investment and Innovation Fund“ Scientific Perspective ””, becoming its director. Since 1994 - Member of the European Federation for Processes and Apparatuses of Chemical Technology ( EFCE ) [1] [2] .

In 1995, Sazhin was appointed a member of the Interdepartmental Commission of the Government of the Russian Federation to promote the creative and scientific and technical development of children and youth in the Russian Federation, and subsequently became deputy executive secretary and head of the Public Admission Commission of the Government of the Russian Federation for Youth. In 1998-2004, he was an expert at the central commission of the Federal Target Program “Integration of Fundamental Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation”. Since 1999 - Member of the Central Board of the National System for the Development of Scientific, Creative and Innovative Activities of Russian Youth “Integration”. Since 1999, he has been a member of the Central Competition Commission of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, and since 2005, a member of the Council for the Research Work of Students and Scientific and Technical Activities of the Youth of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia [1] .

In 2000, he was elected an academician in the industrial ecology section of the International Academy of Ecology, Human and Nature Safety . Since 2002, he has been the chairman of the Competition Commission for the direction of the All-Russian Open Competition of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science on the natural and human sciences of scientific works of university students. In 2003, he became an academician of RIA and a member of the Bureau of the Presidium of the Engineering Ecology and Resource Saving Section of the Russian Engineering Academy . In 2004, he joined the Board of the Cambridge Biographical Society (IBC), Department of Science of the American Biographical Institute (ABI) and became a scientific adviser to the publication of “Who's Who in 21th Century” of the International Biographical Center ( Cambridge , UK ). Since 2005, he is an academician in the technical sciences section of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences . Since 2007 - Vice-President of the Russian Youth Academy of Sciences and the International Academy of Continuing Education , since 2009 - Vice-President of the Association "Main Processes and Techniques of Industrial Technologies" [1] [2] . Since 2010 - Member of the Scientific Council on Chemical Technology of the Russian Academy of Sciences and member of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences. In 2011, he was elected a member of the Presidium of RIA [3] , in 2016 - an academician in the section “Engineering Ecology and Technogenesis” of the Russian Ecological Academy [4] . Chairman of the Editorial Board of the International Academic Bulletin [5] .

Scientific activity

His research interests are processes and apparatuses of chemical technologies , chemical technology of inorganic substances , industrial ecology and resource conservation . He is the author of the scientific foundations of the technique of drying dispersed materials in effective hydrodynamic regimes and the classification of materials as objects of drying. He developed the theory of active hydrodynamic regimes and created a system of algorithmization of technological problems based on a comprehensive analysis of materials as objects of processing [6] .

He proposed a new approach to design analysis and calculation methods for industrial fluidized bed drying plants. He substantiated the use of exergy analysis in hydrodynamics to determine the effectiveness of hydrodynamic regimes based on exergy efficiency . He conducted an exergy analysis of the operation of heat-using plants in the chemical and textile industries . He developed the theory of exergy analysis of large energy objects. He introduced the concept of “effective” hydrodynamic regimes and developed a methodology for assessing the numerical value of efficiency. The author of the world's first invention and patent for the industrial use of the Rank vortex effect [7] .

Together with A. B. Polovnikov, he developed a technology for producing heavy metal ferrites in industrial wastewater treatment [8] .

The author of more than 700 scientific papers, including 2 reference books, 2 textbooks, 9 monographs, 20 study guides, more than 10 patents and copyright certificates for inventions. He prepared more than 10 doctors and candidates of sciences [7] .

He organized more than 60 international and more than 100 Russian youth forums on chemistry, chemical technology, chemical engineering, industrial ecology and life safety, the history of science and technology, pedagogical problems in chemistry, etc. [6]

Creative activity

In addition to scientific activity, Sazhin is also engaged in creative work. There is a collective literary pseudonym “Aleksandrov Aleksandr Aleksandrovich”, owned by Viktor Borisovich Sazhin and his father Boris Stepanovich Sazhin. In 2014, together with the director of the Chemistry publishing house O. A. Chertkova, V. B. Sazhin, the book series “Chemists - About Chemists and More” was founded, which includes 5 books [9] . In 2016, they also established the musical series “The Chemistry of Sound” and published a musical compilation of improvisations for piano under the pseudonym “Victor B. Sazhin” [10] .
