Ly (new letter: ᦺᦑᦟᦹᧉ, [tai˥˩lɯ˩]; Chinese ex. 傣 仂 , pinyin : dăilè ; Thai. ไท ลื้อ , Thai ; Vietnamese Lự ; Thai, Thai, may also be called in Russian literature Lu [1] [2] or liu [3] ) is the Thai people in East and Southeast Asia . Resettlement and numbers

Language
They speak the language of the south-western subgroup of the Thai group . 50% of Chinese people are monolingual, the rest speak Chinese or Jingpo as the second, and Thai speak the Yuan language . The traditional social organization is characterized by small patrilocal families, while patrilinearity is combined in some places with remnants of matrilinealism . The division into totemic endogamous groups has been preserved.
Traditional swing clothing. Women wear skirts of dark blue, decorated with colorful stripes and short sweatshirts , girls - also red turbans . Tattoos are common among both sexes.
Rectangular frame pile dwellings with thatched roofs are characteristic.
Believers - Buddhists ( Theravada ) or adhere to traditional beliefs, including animism , the cult of their ancestors . One of the main holidays - New Year is celebrated in April.
