For many years, Director of the Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw; as a representative of the competition was among the co-founders of the World Federation of International Music Competitions ( 1957 ). Founder ( 1973 ) and until 2004 the permanent director of the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Competition in Israel, as well as the foundation established for its holding [1] ; it is reported that Bystritsky, thanks to friendly relations with Rubinstein, managed to persuade a pianist who opposed performing contests in general to establish a lifetime contest in his own name [2] . Subsequently, Bystritsky also owned the initiative to establish various musical projects in Poland dedicated to the memory of Rubinstein [3] .
