Yergaliyev (Yergali) Khamit ( October 14, 1916 , Novobogatinskoe village [1] - December 13, 1997 ) - Kazakh poet , people's writer of the Kazakh SSR ( 1986 ).

Biography
Khamit Yergaliyev studied at KazSU in 1939-1941 .
Member of the Great Patriotic War . In July-October 1944, he served in the headquarters of the 6th Guards Cavalry Division on the 2nd Belorussian Front . Participated in the Belarusian operation . In November 1944 - January 1945 - the squadron commander of the 32nd Guards Cavalry Regiment of the 9th Guards Cavalry Division on the 2nd Ukrainian Front . Participated in the Budapest operation . On January 3, 1945, near the town of Levice (Slovakia), he was seriously wounded in the chest and sent to hospital [2] [3] .
In 1945 - 1950 Khamit Yergaliyev worked as a literary employee of the newspaper "Socialist Kazakhstan", in 1950 - 1957 - head of the poetry section of the Writers' Union of the Kazakh SSR , in 1958 - 1959 - head of the poetry section of Kazgoslititzdat. Since 1959, was on the creative work. [2]
Creativity
Khamit Yergaliyev is the author of more than 30 poetry books on various topics: the life of the Kazakhs before the October Revolution , the heroic work of the Soviet people in the rear during the war, post-war work and others. The poem “Confession of Fathers” ( 1947 ) tells about the struggle of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War and peaceful labor. In the poem “On the Long Road” ( 1949 ), he describes the images of the builders of the Mointy-Chu railway. In the poems “The Girl from Our Village” ( 1950 ), “Your River” ( 1953 ), the deeds of ordinary people are glorified, it is told about irrigation and gardening of desert lands. The poem “Yaik tunes” ( 1956 ) was dedicated to V.I. Chapaev and his associates. A number of works by Yergaliyev are devoted to cultural figures: “Akiz Ata” ( 1965 ) - to the Ukrainian poet T.G. Shevchenko , “Kurmangazy” ( 1962 ) - to the Kazakh akyn Kurmangazy Sagyrbayev , “Songs at the dawn” ( 1970 ) - to the Kazakh composer Ahmet Zhubanov. [2]
For the collection of poems and poems "Golden Cup" ( 1981 ), Hamit Yergaliyev was awarded the State Prize of the Kazakh SSR named after Abai ( 1982 ).
Khamit Yergaliyev is also the author of works in prose. In 1966 he published his collection of stories, art essays, journalism entitled "The Truth Sings." [2]
Yergaliyev was also a translator of foreign works into the Kazakh language. Among the translated works are works by G. G. Byron, N. A. Nekrasov, A. Navoi, Nizami , Sophocles , Nazim Hikmet , Pablo Neruda , W. Shakespeare , the Kyrgyz epic “ Manas ”, the Karakalpak epic “Forty Girls” and others. [2]
