History
The publishing house was founded by Melbourne Wesley Cummings ( eng. Melbourne Wesley Cummings ) in 1942 . The first published book was the work of Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Francis Sears ( eng. Francis Sears ) "Mechanics". The first computer edition was the book "Electronic Digital Computer" by Wilkes , Wheeler ( eng. David Wheeler (computer scientist) ) and Gill ( eng. Stanley Gill ). In 1970, the publishing house was bought by the WA Benjamin Company and merged with Benjamin Cummings in 1977 . In 1988, Addison – Wesley was acquired by Pearson Corporation.
