The square named after Akhmad Abdulhamidovich Kadyrov is one of the central squares of the city of Grozny , the capital of the Chechen Republic [1] .

Description
Located at the intersection of Vladimir Putin Avenue and Hussein Isaev Avenue . A monument to police officers who died in the fight against terrorists and Wahhabis was erected on the square. Named in honor of Chechen President Akhmat Kadyrov .
History
In Soviet times, the square bore the name of Lenin. After the collapse of the USSR, it was renamed Freedom Square . In the period of Chechnya's actual independence , the name is Sheikh Mansur Square . Restored from ruins after two Chechen wars .
Earlier on the site of the square was the Presidential Palace of Dzhokhar Dudayev . In 1996, the building was blown up by federal troops, and later on, the place named after Akhmat Kadyrov appeared on the site of the palace.
