Family

Parents - Logvin Gavrilovich and Domna Vasilievna Romanenko. There were 5 Romanenko brothers and one sister in total:

  • Porfiry Logvinovich Romanenko (1887? - 1963) - a participant in the civil war, privates of the 1st Cavalry Army, did not participate in the Great Patriotic War, was buried at Dolgoprudnensky cemetery.
  • Prokofy Logvinovich Romanenko (1897-1949) - Colonel General, buried in the Novodevichy cemetery.
  • Vasily Logvinovich Romanenko (1902-1943). The platoon commander was missing in the rank of senior sergeant and position.
  • Romanenko, Pyotr Logvinovich (1905-1985) - lieutenant general, buried in the Kuntsevo cemetery. Wife - Romanenko Maria Maksimovna (died in 2003). Children: Alina and Vsevolod (died). Grandchildren: Andrey, Konstantin (died), Eugene and Julia.
  • Nikolai Logvinovich Romanenko (1907-1943). Missed the rank of battalion commissar and the posts of military commissar of the 344th mountain rifle regiment.

Petr Logvinovich was born on June 11, 1905 in the village of Khustyanka (now Sumy region of Ukraine ) to a peasant family. Since 1913 he lived in the village of Blagodatnoe (now in the Stavropol Territory ). Since 1927, in the ranks of the Red Army , since 1928 a member of the CPSU (b) , a year later he graduated from the Ordzhonikidze military infantry school , until 1939 - in the border troops. In 1941 he graduated from the Frunze Military Academy .

Since July 1941, Romanenko fought on the Leningrad Front , began the war as the chief of intelligence of the 128th Infantry Division , then the battalion commander, regiment, chief of staff and deputy division commander. He participated in defensive battles in the area of Mgi , Sinyavino , on the southern coast of Ladoga . After breaking the blockade of Leningrad, he was appointed commander of the 73rd Marine Rifle Brigade .

In November 1943 , being a colonel , he took command of the 131st Infantry Division in the process of its redeployment to the Oranienbaum bridgehead . Since January 14, the 131st rifle division under the command of Romanenko as part of the 2nd strike army Fedyuninsky participated in the operation "January Thunder" and on January 19 distinguished itself in the capture of Ropsha . For the successful capture of Ropsha, Pyotr Logvinovich Romanenko was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union and the Gold Star medal (No. 3133), and his division was awarded the Order of the Red Banner and received the honorary name Ropshinskaya.

After the Krasnoselsko-Ropshinsky operation, he participated in the liberation of Narva (liberated on July 26, 1944 [1] ) and ended the battle route on the islands of the Estonian SSR .

After the war he continued his army service, in 1948 he graduated from the General Staff Military Academy . He worked as deputy head of the higher officer courses "Shot" . In 1961 , the rank of lieutenant general went into reserve.

He died in Moscow in 1985, was buried in the Kuntsevo cemetery .
