Tracked vehicle

MT-LB

Tracked car - is a vehicle that moves on tracks instead of wheels.

The main advantages of moving on tracks over wheeled vehicles are that they are in contact with a larger area, which allows for low pressure - 31–122 kN / m² (0.3—1.2 kgf / cm²) than conventional transport means of the same weight. This makes them suitable for use in soft, low-friction areas such as mud, ice and snow.

The main disadvantage is that the tracked propulsor is a more complex mechanism than the wheel.

Widely used as engineering machines. In the army, the main striking force of the ground forces is a tank, which is also an overwhelmingly tracked vehicle.
