Content
Geography
Located in the steppe zone, on the Albashi River (basin of the Sea of Azov ), 25 km north of the village of Kanevskaya . Albashi railway station on the Timashevskaya line (80 km) - Starominskaya (24 km).
History
The village was founded in 1821 [2] by immigrants from Poltava and Chernihiv (mainly from Mena , which was reflected in the name of the village) provinces ( Ukraine ), which were enrolled in the Black Sea Cossack army .
According to the encyclopedic dictionary of Brockhaus and Efron at the beginning of the 20th century, the village belonged to the Yeisk section of the Kuban region . It was inhabited by 6,580 residents in 936 yards, there was a church, 2 schools, 39 mills, 14 commercial and industrial establishments, a brick factory [3] .
During the Civil War, the family of the Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrovna (1882–1960) and Colonel Nikolai Alexandrovich Kulikovsky (1881–1958) lived in the village, their youngest son Guri was born here.
In late 1919 - early 1920, New residents, among the rest of the Kuban Cossacks, massively left the ranks of the Denikin Volunteer Army in order to join the Kuban army, organized by the Kuban Rada [4] . As part of the units of the Kuban army, they continued the struggle with the Bolsheviks .
In 1934-1953, Novominskaya was the center of the Novominskiy district .

In 1932-1933, the population of the village of Novominskaya, together with the population of dozens of other villages of the Kuban, experienced mass famine. The exact number of victims of hunger in the village of Novominskaya is currently unknown, but it can amount to several thousand people. [five]
The scenario of organizing hunger in the village of Novominskaya was the same as in all the other villages of the Kuban. Absolutely all food supplies were seized from the population [6] [7] , the village was surrounded by troops, the entrance to and exit from the village was prohibited. To get into the village or get out of it was only illegal. [8] All mail was intercepted.

- Vitaly Artyukhov (born 1944) is a Russian statesman.
- Ivan Gavrish - Russian bandurist, teacher, biologist. An active figure in the Cossack revival in the Kuban . [15]
- Alexei Gusko - Guard Sergeant, Hero of the Soviet Union.
- Vladislav Zakharevich (1946-2013) - Russian scientist, scientist and higher education.
- Guri Kulikovsky (1919-1984) - the youngest son of Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrovna and Nikolai Alexandrovich Kulikovsky, grandson of Emperor Alexander III.
- Semyon Pidgayny (1907-1965) - Ukrainian historian, writer [16] .
- Peter Rekalo - Hero of Socialist Labor [17] .
- Savva (Ostapenko) (1898-1980) - sheikhumen, inhabitant of the Pskov-Pechersky monastery, spiritual writer. Revered in the Orthodox environment as an old man.
- Timofei Yashchik (born 1878) is the personal bodyguard of Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrovna, the sister of Emperor Nicholas II [18] .
