Anton Kushnir from Belarus was the leader in the qualification after the first attempt. However, in the second attempt, he landed on his heel and the ski was unfastened (the mount worked, which unfastens the ski to prevent injury) [1] . As a result, Kushnir scored 88.01 points (21st result in the second attempt), which did not allow him to enter the top 12 and reach the final. Three other representatives of Belarus managed to make it to the finals, where they were 3 Chinese, 3 Canadians, 2 Americans and 1 Swiss.
In the final, Alexei Grishin brought Belarus the first ever gold medal of the Winter Olympic Games in all sports. Belarusians were not left without awards in this kind of program at the 4th Olympics in a row: in 1998, Dmitry Dashchinsky won the Nagano bronze in 1998, Grishin became 3rd in Salt Lake City, and Dashchinsky won silver in 2006 in Turin .
