Geography
The village is located on the Chir River, 354 km from the regional center - Rostov-on-Don .
History
The history of the village of Bokovskaya is from the postal station Bokovskaya. The date of foundation is unknown, but in 1873 it is already mentioned in the documents. At the end of the 19th century, the lands near the Chir River were quickly populated by Cossacks and nonresident peasants, although they lay away from busy intersections.
According to the 1915 census , 395 people lived in Bokov farm, there were 2 parish schools, a church, and 2 mills. In 1918, the Bokov farm was transformed into a village [2] .

According to the 1926 census, 852 people lived in the village, of which 415 were called Cossacks by nationality [9] .

- Mayatsky, Pyotr Ivanovich (1920–2016) - World War II veteran, first secretary of the Bokovsky RK CPSU (1962–1983), first head of the Bokovsky district , chairman of the district council of veterans (1983–2010), honorary citizen of the village of Bokovskaya (1983) [10] ] [11] [12] . P.I. Mayatsky is the author of the book of memoirs “Bells of memory. Thirty years near Sholokhov ”( ISBN 5-7509-0693-0 ).

- In the village of Bokovskaya, a bust of the Hero of the Soviet Union, Yakov Platonovich Telichenko, was installed. The bust is an object of cultural heritage of regional importance (decision of the Small Council of the Rostov Regional Council of People's Deputies No. 325 dated 12/17/1992).
- Monument to V.I. Lenin (1975) [13] . Lenin stands on a granite pedestal with his right hand raised.
- In the village of Bokovskaya in 1962, a monument was erected to a resident of the Ushakov farm, one of the leaders of the revolutionary Cossacks on the Don during the Civil War in Russia, member of the government of the Don Soviet Republic Mikhail Vasilievich Krivoshlykov .
- Bokovo Regional Museum of Local Lore . The museum was founded in 1976 and officially opened on May 8, 1982 . The museum is located in a two-story building and consists of seven halls, visiting which you can follow some periods of the history of the Don Cossacks , find out the history of the formation of the village of Bokovskaya and Bokovsky district. The museum has collected 2637 exhibits [14] .
Orthodox Don Ensemble
The folk folk municipal municipal ensemble, created back in the 80s of the 20th century, is rightfully the pride of not only the village and the region, but the entire Rostov region. Gennady Ivanovich Vecherkin, Honored Worker of Culture of Russia, leads the team. Since 2010, the Cossack song festival "Songs over the Chir" has been held annually in the village of Bokovskaya [15] [16] .
Monuments of Archeology
The territory of the Rostov region was inhabited in the Neolithic era. People living in ancient parking lots and settlements by the rivers were mainly engaged in gathering and fishing [17] . The steppe for pastoralists of all time has been a vast pasture for livestock. From those times there were many burial mounds with burials of residents of these places. Mounds and mound groups are under state protection.
Near the territory of the village of Bokovskaya in the Bokovskiy district there are several attractions - monuments of archeology. They are protected in accordance with Federal Law of 25.06.2002 N 73-ФЗ “On Objects of Cultural Heritage (Monuments of History and Culture) of the Peoples of the Russian Federation”, Regional Law of 22.10.2004 N 178-ЗС “On Objects of Cultural Heritage (Monuments of History and culture) in the Rostov region ”, by Decree of the Head of the Administration of the RO dated 02.21.97 N 51 on the adoption of state monuments of history and culture of the Rostov region and measures for their protection, etc.
- Barrow "Bokovsky I" on the Eastern outskirts of the village of Bokovskaya.
- Barrow "Bokovsky V". Located at a distance of about 2.55 km southwest of the village of Bokovskaya.
- Kurgan group "Bokovsky II" from 4 barrows. Located at a distance of about 1.2 km west of the village of Bokovskaya.
- Kurgan group "Bokovsky III" from 6 barrows. It is located at a distance of about 0.7 km south-west of the village of Bokovskaya.
- Kurgan group "Bokovsky IV" from 2 barrows. It is located at a distance of about 4.15 km west of the village of Bokovskaya [18] .
