Ground structures
Due to the shallow laying at the station, there is no pavilion and escalators . The entrances to the station are combined with sub-pedestrian crossings :
- On Novatorov Boulevard towards Dachny Prospekt .
- On Novatorov Boulevard towards Tankista Khrustitsky Street and Veterans Avenue .
Underground Structures
“Veteran Avenue” is a shallow-pillar column station (depth ≈ 8 m). The underground hall was designed by architect V. G. Khilchenko and engineer S. P. Shchukin. Like the Leninsky Prospekt station, it is a representative of the Moscow-style or centipede stations, not numerous in the St. Petersburg metro (columned shallow stations with a simplified design of the underground hall).
The design style is memorial, which corresponds to the name of the station. The columns are decorated with black labradorite and gray marble (outer columns), the floor is gray granite , black labradorite with brass inserts. The edges of the columns are highlighted with metal profiles. The track walls of the station are faced with golden gazgan marble . Soon after putting the station into operation, high-reliefs made in chased metal on the history of the USSR were installed over the entrances, starting with the Aurora shot (sculptors P. A. Yakimovich and A. I. Sirenko).

Passenger
According to the Prospect advertising agency, about 84 thousand people use the station daily (total traffic through both entrances / exits). The monthly passenger flow is 2,528,263 people. [four]
Project and Station Features
- Initially, they wanted to name the station along the current Dachny Avenue (at that time it was called III International Street, it was also supposed to be called the station) [5] .
- During the construction of the tunnels from the Leninsky Prospekt station, high strength kleebolt joints in tunnels were used. The tunnels passed under Novator Boulevard [5] .
- In fact, the station is located away from Veteranov Avenue (~ 210 m), located along Novatorov Boulevard. Other stations of the St. Petersburg metro, as a rule, were built directly at adjacent major highways.
- The time table of the passage of the first train through the station [6] :
| By even numbers | By odd numbers | |
|---|---|---|
| Towards the station " Leninsky Prospekt " | 5:52 | 5:43 |
| To a dead end | 5:56 | 5:56 |
Lobby Repair
On October 3, 2007, the staircase descent to lobby 1 on the even side of Novatorov Boulevard was closed in connection with the construction of a pedestrian zone. Lobby 2 partially closed. The first phase of work was completed on January 31, 2008 . By 2011, all work was completed.
