Christopher Claus "Chris" Andersen ( Eng. Thanks to his tattoos, he got the nickname " Birdman " ( English Birdman , "man-bird"). NBA champion in the 2012/2013 season as part of the Miami Heat .

Biography
Born in Long Beach , California , Andersen grew up in Iola , Texas . After graduation, he spent one year at Blinn College. In 1999, he nominated himself for the NBA draft , but was not chosen, after which he began his professional career in China , in the Jiangsu Dragons team, then played for the teams of lower American leagues for two years. In 2001, he ended up in the NBA , becoming a Denver Nuggets player. In 2004, he moved to the New Orleans Hornets . In 2004 and 2005, Andersen participated in the slam dunk competition held before the NBA All-Star Game . On January 25, 2006, he was disqualified for two years for drug use [1] . In March 2008, Andersen returned to Hornets with the permission of the NBA Players Association. In the summer of the same year, becoming a free agent, he returned to the Denver Nuggets, signing a contract with the team for one year. In the 2008/2009 season , being a reservist in his team, he became the second in the association in terms of the number of block shots made - 175, only the center-based Orlando Magic , Dwight Howard (231), did more. Known for his skill set block shots. In the summer of 2009, he signed a new contract for five years, for which he will receive $ 26 million [2] .
In the 2011/2012 season, Andersen spent 32 matches for the Nuggets, scoring 5.3 points, making 4.6 rebounds and 1.4 block shots per match. In January 2013, Chris Andersen, having the status of a free agent, signed a contract with the Miami Heat for 10 days [3] . In late January 2013, Andersen signed another 10-day contract with the Miami Heat. [4] In February 2013, it became known that Chris Andersen will remain in the Miami Heat until the end of the season [5] .
On February 16, 2016, as a result of the trilateral exchange, Andersen found himself in Memphis Grizzlies [6] . Three days later he made his debut for the Grizzlies in a game against Minnesota, scoring 4 points, 3 rebounds and 1 block-shot in 11 minutes of playing time [7] .
On July 22, 2016, Andersen signed a contract with Cleveland Cavaliers [8] .
