A. N. Kosygin Russian State University (Technology. Design. Art) [1] is one of the oldest universities in Russia. It is one of the first universities in the country to train specialists for light industry.

Creation History
The school historically specializes in graduating specialists in the field of light industry . The educational institution began with the opening of the Department of Technology of Leather Products at the Moscow University of Chemical Technology (now RCTU named after Mendeleev ) in 1916 .
In 1930, the department was transformed into the Moscow Polytechnic Institute of the Leather Industry. The first director of the institute was Nikolai Vladimirovich Chernov .
In 1937, the institute was transformed into the Moscow Technological Institute of Light Industry and existed under this name until 1992 . From 1992 to 1999 it was called the Moscow State Academy of Light Industry. In 1998, the Institute of Social Engineering was formed as part of the Academy, and in 1999 the Institute of Design was opened. In 2002, the Moscow State Academy of Light Industry was transformed into the Moscow State University of Design and Technology (MGUDT).
In 2011, the university established the College of Moscow State University of Economics and Technology. Specialties: Costume Design, Environmental Design, Industrial Design. Specializations: Design of accessories (within the framework of the qualification "costume design").
In 2012, it was reorganized by joining it as a structural unit of MSTU. A.N. Kosygin .
In 2015, it was reorganized by joining it as a structural unit of the Maimonides State Classical Academy and the State Academy of Slavic Culture .
In 2016, it was renamed to A.N. Kosygin Russian State University (Technology. Design. Art).

- Tatyana Petrovna Tyagina (04/17/1965) - Russian designer, fashion designer, public figure. She graduated from the correspondence department of the Moscow Institute of Light Industry. A.N. Kosygina. In 1997, together with her husband Alexander Tyagin, she founded the company Tyagina Tatyana (Design House of Tatyana Tyagina).
