Watercourse
From the source, Arched flows south through the territory of the Olkhov district for about 5 km, in this course the river dries up. Then the channel widens, the river becomes more full, turns south-west and flows for about 6 km, after which, at the Archedino-Chernushensky farm (already the Frolovsky district ), it meets the Frolovo - Kamyshin highway and turns a few more to the west.
After that, the river flows parallel to the highway (on the north side) for about 40 km. Passes by the Rubezhnoye farm (at a distance of about 1 km) and the village of Obraztsy (about 4 km), through the Mansky farm, Perfilovsky farm (after it the river no longer dries up), Ternovka. In the Ternovka farm, the river crosses the highway and flows south-west for about 8 km through the Kalinovsky and Shurupovsky farms, where it changes direction, leaves the highway and turns north-west. After 2.5 km Archeda reaches Frolovo . The river runs about 5 km along the southwestern border of the city.
Then Archeda turns west, after 6 km it crosses the M6 Volgograd-Moscow highway, immediately after which it falls into the Vetyutnev farm . After that, in the lower reaches, the river flows along the Archedinsky-Don sands . Then more than 30 km to the west through the farm Gulyaevka, Archedinsky forestry, Kolobrodov, Shkolny, Padok. Gradually, the river turns to the north-west and already in the Serafimovichi district , after the Nikulichev, Poselsky, Dvorki and Nezhnyanka farms, it flows into Medveditsa 3 km east of the village of Archedinskaya . The distance from the source of the river to Medveditsa is about 35 kilometers, but the river travels 162 kilometers to fall into Medveditsa several tens of kilometers downstream.

History
Probably one of the first references to the river is found in the Book of the Big Drawing (1627) [4] :
And below the Karmysh River, the Archeda River fell into the Ursa River, 130 miles to the Archeda duct ...
In the spring of 2003, a severe flood occurred in the Volgograd Region . At the same time, Archeda flooded a very large territory [5] .
In 2010, there was again a severe flood [6] .
Name Origin
Versions:
- under the assumption of B. Lashchilin, this name is associated with the name of the Tatar prince Archak, however the names of rivers formed from personal names are a rare occurrence in hydronymy [7] [8] ;
- V. I. Dahl explains the word archak as “a wooden skeleton of a saddle” and notes that the Cossacks were skilled archaic; however, certain phonetic and derivational difficulties do not allow the adoption of such an etymology [8] ;
- the most probable is the version according to which the name of the river corresponds to the word "archa" used in Turkic and Mongolian languages: "juniper, pine, talnik", that is, in this case we have a name like "Sosnovka" or "Talovka" preserved without translation [ 8] .
