Mineola ( Eng. Minneola ) - a variety of tangel obtained in 1931 [1] in Florida (USA). It is a hybrid of Dancy mandarin ( Dancy ) with grapefruit of Duncan (sometimes incorrectly called "Bowen" by the name of the owner of the parent tree) [2] [3] .

Mineola has a round shape, slightly oblate along the axis, relatively large in size (8.25 cm wide, 7.5 cm high); peel of deep red-orange color, thin, strong; the pulp consists of 10-12 slices, melts in the mouth, has a sweet and sour taste, a wonderful aroma; contains 7-12 small seeds (seeds), green inside. It ripens late. It is well preserved during transportation. If the crop is overexposed on a tree, the fruits of the next crop will be light in color. One of the methods for increasing the size of fruits is tying inflorescences. [2]

It contains a large amount of folic acid - up to 80% of a person's daily requirement per 100 g of product.

Mineola is grown in the USA ( Florida ), China , Turkey and in Israel .
