History

It is believed that the tribal union of Ara Kai , which is part of the tribal education of Kai, was located on the site of the current Uyren. Later, control of this territory was transferred to the state of Silla , here, as part of the county of Hanam, a municipal unit ( hyung ) of the Chanham was formed, which in the middle of the VIII century was named Ayrön. In the era of Goryeo, here were located the districts of йychhön (as part of Jinju ) and Sinbon with hyn status. In the era of the Chosun dynasty, in 1413 , Ayrön got its name again and keeps it to this day. Then he received the status of the county (kun), also preserved to this day. [one]

Geography

Yyryn is located in the south of the Korean Peninsula in the central part of Gyeongsangnam Province . The length of the territory from west to east is 32 kilometers , from north to south - 27 kilometers.

In the east it borders on Chhannen and Haman counties , in the south - on Jinju, in the west and north on Sanchon and Hapchon .

The landscape is predominantly mountainous, the highest points on the territory of the county are the Chagulsan mountains ( 자굴산 , 897 m) and Cuxabon ( 국사봉 , 668 m). [2]

Due to the influence of the surrounding mountains, the climate of Ryun has more pronounced continental features than the rest of the Korean Peninsula. The average annual temperature in the county is 12.8 ° C. The average monthly temperature in August is 30.3 ° C, the average monthly temperature in January is −5.8 ° C. The average annual rainfall is 1466.2 mm. [3]
