Geographical location
The village is located on the Gorodonka River - a tributary of the Chernaya River, in the north-west of the district, 5 km north-west of the administrative center of the district - the village of Batetskiy and 2 km south of the village of Chernaya .
Economics
CJSC Sadko, the former collective farm “Way to Happiness”, specializes in dairy farming [2] .
History and Attractions
According to the statistics on the national economy of the Luga district of 1891, the estate in the village of Gorodnya with an area of 231 tithes belonged to nobles M.V. and S.V. Vsevolozhsky [3] .
The Church of Dimitry of Solunsky, 1826 [4] , was closed in 1939 , in 1945, services were resumed in the church [5] , at that time the church belonged to the VI Luga deanery district of the Leningrad diocese [6] , in 1960 a campaign to close The church was initiated by the Bateck district committee of the CPSU in March 1961 - the church was closed again, residents collected 617 signatures and sent it to the Council of the Russian Orthodox Church with a request not to close the church, but on March 10 and 11, 1961 the church was decided by local and regional party authorities was crushed, crosses and a coupe Ala dismantled [7] . Until March 2009, Gorodnya was the administrative center of the Gorodensky rural settlement. As a result of the referendum, regional law No. 559 - OZ was amended on March 31, 2009, the Gorodensky rural settlement was abolished, and its territory became part of the Batetsk rural settlement [9] .
Socially Important Objects
