Example of performance

Tyndonyya ( Jap. チ ン ド ン 屋 ) was a costumed musical performance that originated in Japan and set itself the goal of advertising various institutions: street musicians who played mostly brass or woodwind instruments, thus performed the role of "biting."

Over time, the Tindon tradition was supplanted by more efficient modern advertising methods. However, the genre itself is not dead and lives as a separate musical direction. The great contribution to its development belongs to the Japanese alt-saxophonist and his ensemble Compostela .

The modern idea is usually played like this: playing music, there is a “ samurai ” ahead with a gong on a belt, followed by a “ geisha ” with a drum, and behind them a clarinet player in colorful clothes. Moreover, tindonjas are not limited to music and can perform, for example, tricks [1] . At the same time advertisements of one or another institution can be hung on the costumes of the musicians themselves or be worn in the form of posters by one more, fourth person.
