Vyatka State Agricultural Academy

In 1901, an agricultural technical school was opened in Vyatka on the initiative of the Vyatka provincial zemstvo. It trained agronomists, land surveyors and other agrarian specialists. In July 1930, the school was transformed into a Zootechnical Veterinary Institute. Two faculties were established at the institute - zootechnical (now biological) and veterinary (now the faculty of veterinary medicine) ^[1] .

By the beginning of World War II , 60 teachers worked at the institute (9 of them were professors and 18 associate professors ). Over 500 students studied. In 1944, the agronomical faculty was opened, and the university itself was renamed the Kirov Agricultural Institute.

In 1952, the Faculty of Agricultural Mechanization opened (now the Faculty of Engineering). In 1960, the main building was opened on Oktyabrsky Avenue. In the 60s, two new specialties became available at the institute: “Hunting study” and “Economics”.

In 1995, the institute was renamed the Vyatka State Agricultural Academy. Over the years, he has trained more than 40 thousand specialists.

The Academy is headed by Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Victor Germanovich Mokhnatkin.

Faculty of Veterinary Medicine

The faculty was created in 1930. Provides training in the specialties of veterinary medicine and merchandising and examination of food products. Over the years, the faculty has trained more than 7,000 students, 32 graduates have the title of "Honored Veterinarian."
