History
VCTP in the coloring of the UN in the peacekeeping mission in Croatia
Created by the West German company Thyssen-Henschel by order of the Argentine army. When developing the design, the chassis of the West German infantry fighting vehicle Marder was taken as the basis. The engine is a diesel engine (MTU MB 833) [1] [2] . A factory ( TAMSE ) [3] for the production of armored vehicles of the TAM family was built near Buenos Aires . The body of the machine is welded, assembled from steel sheets having rational angles of inclination.
Combat use
17 VCTP machines took part in peacekeeping as part of the Argentine battalion in Yugoslavia .
