Service History
It was ordered in accordance with the fleet expansion program from 1875 . It was built in 1875-1878 at the shipyards of the British company Samuda Brothers . The prototype for him was the British battleship Iron Duke , who served as the British flagship at the Chinese Station in 1871-1875 and is well known to the Japanese military. In 1894, a partial modernization took place.
Sino-Japanese War
He took an active part in the Sino-Japanese war and was injured in the battle on the Yalu River .
The interwar period
In 1898 - 1899 he underwent another modernization, and in 1903 he was reclassified into an armadillo of coastal defense .
Russo-Japanese War
He took part in the blockade of Port Arthur in the Russo-Japanese War .
Service Termination
December 12, 1905 "Fuso" was reclassified into a coastal defense ship of the 2nd class. April 1, 1908 "Fuso" was removed from the lists of the fleet. In 1909, the ship was sold and in 1910 dismantled for scrap [1] .
