Son of Remalia ; He was a military leader under the king of Phakias (Pkahia); plotted against him and, having killed him, began to reign over Israel (2 Kings 15:25 ). Having attacked the kingdom of Judea , Fakey took many prisoners, but, according to the prophet, Odeda returned them to freedom [1] . Fakey and Rezin (Rezon), the king of Syria, having concluded an alliance among themselves, decided to depose the Jewish king Ahaz and to enthrone the son of Taveilov [2] , but they could not fulfill their intentions and had to retreat from Jerusalem . In straitened circumstances, Ahaz turned to the Assyrian king Tiglathpalasar with a request to help him against his enemies. Tiglathpalassar III conquered Damascus , conquered several northern cities of the kingdom of Israel, Gilead , Galilee and all the land of Nefealimov and the inhabitants was taken prisoner to Assyria (2 Kings 15:29 ).
Perhaps, under the influence of these calamities, Hosea , the son of Eli, plotted against Fakey, who, having killed Fakey, himself took his throne (2 Kings 15:30 ).
