Hans Joachim Hecht ( German: Hans-Joachim Hecht ; born January 29, 1939 , Luckenwalde ) is a German chess player , grandmaster ( 1973 ), ICCF international master ( 1980 ). Chess journalist and theorist.

Champion of Germany 1970 and 1973 (open championship, 1-3 place with W. Andersson and B. Spassky ). The FRG team included 10 olympiads ( 1962 - 1986 ). Winner of international tournaments: Bad Pyrmont (1970; 1-3rd place), Olot (1971), Malaga and Montilla ( 1972 ), Dublin ( 1974 ).
