Biography
His wife, singer and actress Marie Justine de Ronceray (du Ronceray, 1727-1772), made her debut in Paris in 1744. Her best roles were considered the roles of peasant women in Mozart 's Annette and Lubin ( Annette et Lubin ) and Mozart's Bastienne and Bastienne . Together with her husband, she wrote about 90 plays for the theater. Novel [ specify ] Favara's “ Ninette at the Court” ( Ninette à la cour ) formed the basis of Andre Gretry ’s comic opera “ ” (1782).
Favard's works were published in Paris in 1850 under the title of “Works of Mr. and Mrs. Favard” ( Oeuvres de M. et M-me Favart ). Verlaine and Rimbaud appreciated his songs. Spouses Favard appear in the comic opera of Jacques Offenbach Madame Favard ( 1878 ).
Family
Wife Marie Justine Favard (1727-1772), artist. One of their sons, Charles-Nicola Favard , became an actor; his grandson Antoine Pierre Charles Favard - writer.
