Biography

He graduated from the University "Turan" ( 1996 ).

He began his career in 1990 as a librarian of the Central Scientific Library of the Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan .

Since June 1994, he has been the head of the Who's Who in Kazakhstan Information and Publishing Project, the chief editor of the Kazakhstan Biographical Encyclopedia, which has published 12 editions by 2012 : according to the reviewer,

Probably, Daniyar Ashimbaev's Bibliographic Encyclopedia is the only publication of its kind in which no one and nothing is forgotten. And this is gratifying, since a nation that does not remember and value its past has no future [1] .

Other books by Ashimbaev - “Kazakhstan of the 90s. Kazhegeldin's Government: Privatization, Corruption and Struggle for Power ”(2003, in collaboration with N. Suleimenov and V. Andreev) and“ Kazakhstan: the history of power. Reconstruction Experience ”(2008, in collaboration with Vitaly Khlyupin). In 2005 , together with Gulmira Ileuova, she prepared a collection of materials “Elections 2004 in Kazakhstan. Step by step".

He is the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Kazakhstan Information Encyclopedic Directory - KINES.

From May 2004 to December 2005 - Chief Editor of the Center for Communication Technologies "Reputation" [2] .

From 2016 to 2018 - member of the Public Council under the Archives of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan [3] . In May 2015, I donated personal documents to the Archive of the President for state storage of the Kazakh Soviet scientist and teacher, Hero of the Soviet Union Malik Gabdullin . The documents were purchased and collected by Ashimbaev from private collectors in Almaty.
