Nikita Leonidovich Storozhev ( French: Nikita Storojev , born in Harbin ) - Soviet and French [1] opera singer ( bass ), laureate of the International Tchaikovsky Competition (2nd prize, 1978 ) [2] , soloist of the USSR Bolshoi Theater ( 1977 - 1981 ).

Biography

Born in a family of Russian emigrants in Harbin . The grandfather, who worked as an accountant on the CER , was familiar with Fedor Chaliapin . Another father was Alexander Vertinsky [3] .

At the age of five with his parents he returned to the USSR (in Sverdlovsk ). He studied at the Faculty of Philosophy of Ural University at the same time as Gennady Burbulis [1] . Subsequently, he graduated from the Moscow Conservatory .

After graduating from the conservatory, he worked at the Moscow Philharmonic

He met his Mexican wife at the Moscow Conservatory, but the condition for marriage was emigration to his wife’s homeland [1] . He emigrated to Mexico in 1983 [3] . After several years in Mexico, Storozhev moved to Dusseldorf ( Germany ), where he had a three-year contract. Then he moved to Paris , where he received French citizenship [1] .

In the 2000s - Associate Professor of Vocal and Opera Art ( Eng. Associate Professor of Voice and Opera ), University of Texas at Austin ( University of Texas at Austin ).

Continues concert activity and gives master classes.

Creativity

He performed together with Placido Domingo , Luciano Pavarotti , Ruggero Raimondi , Katya Riccarelli and Nikolai Giaurov . The conductors Nikita Storozhev worked with include Mstislav Rostropovich , Vladimir Ashkenazi , Sir John Pritchard, Claudio Abbado , Neeme Järvi , John Nelson and Gennady Rozhdestvensky .

Creative Awards and Prizes

  • 1978 - Laureate of the International Tchaikovsky Competition , 2nd prize (together with Valentin Pivovarov; the first prize was not awarded ) [2] .
